Oh my god! John Todd!
It has been brought to my attention that I have been remiss in mentioning our star-crossed meeting with John Todd in Rhinebeck, NY. This was not intended, as it was a pretty interesting encounter. Sam and I were staying with Ailey in Tivoli, and he had the notion that we might be near him, and so called Sammy up. John Todd was working a revolutionary, as I hear, water treatment facility for the Omega Institute, just out of town proper. We went to meet him at the Terrapin bar and grille where he was dining with a couple of architects from Kansas City. The architects were reserved and professionally dressed, which made a hilarious foil to John Todd's ribald and work clothed countenance. The two architects had worked with him for a while and obviously had a good relationship with him. Sam and I of course were dressed like bums and probably smelled worse, but still managed to have a very interesting talke that ranged from homes made from shipping containers, to the female architect's, whose name I have forgotten, apologies, own bicycle adventure that included sleeping in a ditch in New Hampshire or some such. Good fun!
